Hexagon’s LiDAR 3D Vision software combines measurement and security technology. The software sets the industry standard for the capture, visualization, extraction, analysis, sharing, and presentation of point cloud data.
High-precision data capture with LiDAR enables accurate and reliable detection of intruders and objects in surveillance. LiDAR technology significantly reduces false alarms and is also minimally invasive. Ground cables or fences under alarm are no longer required. Based on the generated 3D point cloud, Hexagon’s LiDAR 3D Vision software can determine whether the object is a person, animal, or vehicle and differentiate between them. The software also enables tracking of objects using a tracking function. Cameras integrated into the system can also use the tracking function and provide additional 2D images. LiDAR technology is highly robust and works day and night, in snowfall, rain, and smoke. Its major advantage over a thermal camera is its resolution and detailed reproduction. It’s also worth emphasizing that LiDAR technology doesn’t violate data privacy, allowing it to be used in critical areas. LiDAR technology not only provides perimeter protection but also enables monitoring of the entire area thanks to 3D volumetric scanning. Hexagon’s LiDAR 3D vision software generates a virtual 3D representation of the surroundings. When an object is detected, the software immediately creates a digital twin, visualizing the object. The operator doesn’t have to struggle with plans, but is always in the center of what’s being seen.
